I need some help! Whenever I turn on my computer, it freezes randomly like when I'm playing Diablo II, or just surfing the web. Is it possible to fix this problem? I already tried checking the disk (using disk check) and it still happens. Do I have update my drivers? ... But I think its already updated... Ill make sure. Or is it because the lack of disk space in my computer? I only have around 3 gigs left out of the 30 gig harddrive.
So, is there anybody out there that help me please!? Thanks and happy holidays!

Well if you have any extra RAM of know anyone who can spare a piece I'd definetly try and swap out the memory you have with some known working memory.
As for hd space, 3 gig out of 30 isn't too bad (i've seen worse)

Yea, I plan switching the memory with a Kingston 512MB PC-133 SDRAM. It just the matter of getting to the computer store up in Mira Mesa and finding the store who supplies it. By the way, I recently defraged the comp and its doing pretty well. I hope this continues .

Just for giggles and grins ... Check the airflow one your Athlon proc.
make sure the fan is cruising smoothly and that there isnt dust caked up in the heat sink. the same for the fan on the vid card. if the vid card over heats the whole system will freeze. If u have compressed air give it a good blow out POWER SUPPLY aswell.

Hi Just1nCase
If you only have 3 gigs of hdd space it could be that the system is unable to write its swapfile correctly. This would cause the computer to hang. Even if you have loads of ram the swapfile is still used as some programers use it for data. I have 1.5gb of ram and my swap file is still used when playing UT2

I highly doubt that he has a 3gig page file....

But he said that he only has 256 of ram
If there is a better than 3 gig page file then that machine needs to have someone else in his city come and have a sit down with it.

For some reason, the computer started to act up again but I was able to go to safe mode and was able to fix it. Basically, I just check for spyware using Lavasoft Adware 6 and delete my temporary internet files (by going to the internet option in the tools menu, then clicking on delete files and delete cookies). Once, I got to windows and I just downloaded their latest updates. So hopefully that put an end to this.
