Greetings and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years to all.
After burying the hatchet with laggy a few months ago, I figured I may as well do the neighborly thing and revisit the site. Mind you, I haven't been lurking in here, and I won't read the aprox 5000 messages that it tells me I missed. But what I can do, is visit every now and then to wave the flag as it were.
So what is new with me? Well very busy with work, teaching 3 different classes under 3 different department heads. I enjoy the challenge.
I upgraded my computer last summer. Did a complete overhaul. Thermaltake Xaser3 2000A case, Pentium 4 2.6C 800FSB, 1 gig of Corsair DDR 400 RAM, Abit IC7 motherboard, Radeon 9700Pro, Audigy 2 platinum, Logitec Z-560 speakers, MSI 48x16x48, LG 48x24x48x16 Combo drive, A Lian Li 3 1/2 thermometer bay, Antec Blue 480watt PS, Logitec Cordless MX duo, a 9 cm tornado fan on a Thermalright SLK 900A (Why oh why did I get this fan, sure it pumps out 116 CFM, but it sounds like a jet taking off. Furthermore, I have this thing on a reobus so I can live with it, however, when I boot up my computer, I have to turn the fan to max otherwise it won’t turn and the computer shuts down). I think I will have to replace this thing next…..
I also took up a new hobby, that of leatherworking. I got into this by accident. A box sort of called to me at a local pawn shop (one I try to visit as often as I can because I know the people who run it). When I removed the other items on top of it, I noticed it was a box of leather tools. Not knowing much about it, I paid the $70 bucks thinking it was steep, but the odd and weird looking tools were intriguing, and they were new to boot.. I did some research on the net, and found out that the box was worth $600 dollars! One thing led to another, and now I am happily tooling away. If you need a great hobby, you can't beat this. I have only been into it for 4 weeks, and work does come first, but it is very relaxing. There is something about the rhythmic pounding of mallets and the rich smell of leather.
Anyhow, that is it for now. Cheers.
