removing network adaptor from ps2

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I wanna be Able to put my ps2 in my aluminum case that i just bought. but it wont fit with the adaptor installed on it. Ive heard that it is possible to remove the adaptor from the console, but theres also a great risk in doing so that could damage the machine. Is it really hard to safely remove the adaptor from the console where i can do so as many times as i want?

My friend does it all the time, as far as I could tell it just slid in and out with some screwing/unscrewing.

Theres 2 screws that you can see from the back. Just unscrew them and it comes right out.

ok, thanks. now since my ps2 came with the adaptor on(ps2 online pack) it didnt come wit instructions about taking and putting on the adaptor. to remove, which way do i turn the screws to loosen them?

I believe just like a regular screw, to the left. Use a penny or a dime to do it though. They are not supposed to be on very tight, and if you slip with a screwdriver it might be bad news. When putting it back on, dont make the screws tight, just get them to the point where it would take a lot more pressure to turn them then stop.

ok, thanks skyhn.

it came off after unscrewing the screws. i used a nickel(recommended by ps2 tech support). now i see what the back of the adaptor looks like. i put it back on and tightened the screws not too much, just to the point where more pressure was needed. although since im stronger than the average person. i might have tightened them a little too much, im not so sure about it. could you help me here?

The adapter would be cracked if you tightened them TOO much.

adaptor getting cracked? have you seen this happen before?

Posted by: SKYHN

No. But thats why it says not to tighten it too much. If it cracks, you will know it. Its just like any other plastic with metal screws.

thanks so much skyhn, now i have been trying to talk with you about one of your threads called name that game. i like it. i have many sega genesis and snes games(some are rare) that i can record tunes from. i wanted to make a thread similiar to yours but ill call it name that tune 2. if its ok with you, if not let me know

Posted by: SKYHN

Why not just put it in the same thread?

Posted by: madman55

thats true. but arent you still posting new game tunes for ppl to answer by saying the name of the game?
