Willing to continue breaking my New Year's rez.
My rez should have been not to buy them anymore instead of to quit smoking them.

I have no problem with you smoking. It just means that addiction is bigger than your will to stop. You probably have years of being and looking cool before you develop the health problems that will kill you.
I have seen people who have just had their lung taken out ask for a cigarette.

Laborat,
Man.......
and I just roled 1 and ready to light it.
One lung huh?

Hey Red,
Happy New Year
No, but I'm sure its gotta be bad.
I'm really trying hard to quit.
Thanks for the response. It means a lot.

you can do it man! throw that ciggy down now! Get up and run around in circles if you need to! I don't have anything against anyone who smokes, but I can be quite bothersome if they are trying to quit
Don't do it! and I take my lighter comment from the other thread back!!!

Well, maybe here's some inspiration.
Almost 5 years ago, my mom had to quit cold turkey, because her life depended on it. She had been a heavy smoker for over 30 years. Well, we thought she got bronchitus (spelling?) in the winter, and she did, but shortly after awhile she couldn't breathe and the pain got to be too much, so my dad got pissed and called for an ambulance. They sent over a respirator oxygen machine for her, and told her she had the start of emphyzema (spelling again), and that if she didn't quit she could die or be stuck on the respirator for life. She quit cold turkey, and they gave her this little inhaler, just like for asthma. Now when it gets cold out, she gets winded way too easily, and her chest hurts, but I'm glad she's still here. It was enough to scare my sister to stop too. Glad I never chose to start.
One other story. I'm not sure how many years my ex-brother in law's father was smoking, but from what I had heard he had quit for over 20 years, and still died of cancer anyway. Not exactly a great thing.

Don't smoke. It killed both of my grandmas and caused my grandfather to go into surgery from it.

I haven't smoked in over a year. I was a wuss and used drugs instead of willpower.
PS By "drugs" I mean Wellbutrin and not crack.

some good solutions to withdrawal (based on experience):
1.) Always have something to chew - something edible, not your pencil.
2.) Keep yourself busy. You get stronger cravings when you're bored.
3.) Avoid problems and stress. Watch a movie or two to take your mind off things.
4.) If you have access to it, get laid.
5.) When you get cravings, avoid going outdoors.
I stopped smoking before - last year I have even gone eight months without lighting a cig. And I picked it up again on a whim coz of some shitty little personal wrinkle
If you thought quitting was hard, trying to stay off it is harder, even if you don't feel the cravings anymore ... just one or two cigs after a long withdrawal and you're back at it ... nicotine patch or no...
p.s. this is my second day of quitting cold turkey ... first day was excruciating

cisco, that's...special.
My brother smokes and I make sure that he knows I hate it. Everytime he comes in my room to play on my xbox, I make him leave if he smells like smoke since it gives me headaches and I personally think that it's disgusting.
Keep up the good work rock.
