Hi, i hope you guys can help me out...
On the yahoo member directory, everytime i try to see someone else's profile tells me the following:
404 Not Found
The requested URL /(username) was not found on this server.

Why does this happens and before I have never had such problems??

If you got a solution please share it so i can resolve this.

Thank You

Why don't you provide us with a sample URL/address so we can try it out ... coz it's just possible that the member's info is really no longer available...

Hi, thanks for your reply...here's an example i have just tried...

The requested URL /angel_leopard79 was not found on this server.

This happens with all profiles i try to see.
Cheers

Hmmm, I assume you were logged in when you try to access these profiles? I can access them just fine... it may also be possible that Yahoo is blocking your IP address or domain from accessing members or something ...

If you go to this page:
http://profiles.yahoo.com/angel_leopard79

Do you see it? Or is it a 404?

Hi Canis...
Thanks for trying to see to my problem...
I clicked on the link you posted but gives me the same result....i really don't understand it because previously i used to browse through profiles looking for people with the same interests as me...and i'm still stuck...lol

I'll keep checking your replies perhaps your knowledge will somehow help me through.

Thank you
Luis

I left a post here last time that no one seemed able to find out what it is...or perhaps after half an hour with so many other postings coming in, i just got forgotten, i do remember though that the administrator tried to look into it, but i wonder if he found what the solution to my problem could be...

Whenever i try to read a yahoo profile (on chat for example) it gives me a 404error not found, always, and i have never had this problem before, what could this be??

If you do find the answer please let me know, and thanks for all the support up to today.

You may want to contact the Yahoo support people about this ... they may have your IP address blocked or something to that effect...

Try either of these links:

maybe you should check the firewall

A firewall would have nothing to do with a server returning a "file not found" error message, blue.

I think im having the same problems as you are ive tried e-mailing yahoo and did the requested actions they told me too but i still cant view mine or anyone elses profile and its really annoying. If there are any kind folk out there to help i would be most gratefull. If you would like to view what yahoo sent me to do it may help you in some way but like i said it was no good for me

Hey, guys.

Not sure whether this will be any help as such, more a share of experiences, but I often have the same problem. I.e. it 404s when trying to view any profiles at all. I have no idea why but for me it just seems to occur randomly (whether anything is random). It's already been said that this is not a firewall problem and, after e-mailing Yahoo support about it (in accurate detail on my side)and getting no useful information whatsoever, the only thing I've resorted to is hanging around and waiting. This is usually a while, but for some reason, it does usually work again.

So, find something productive to spend your time on, grab some coffee, wait a few weeks and have a little faith. That's all I can say.

Equally, if you have more success than me in finding out why it does this, please let me know!
