Sata HDD

So im trying to help this guy out with setting up his new machine. He built it all from parts and such. The trouble is, hes got a SATA hdd that apparently didnt come with any software. Hes got an Asus A7N8X-Deluxe Motherboard and Seagate 120GB Sata hdd. The cd that came with the mobo has Sata drivers on it, but doesnt really explain how to go about installing them to get the hard drive recognized. Its not being recognized by the bios, and when he tries to Install WINXP Pro, it says he doesnt have a hdd. I know that you need to hit F6 when you start the installation to pick another storage device to install to, then your supposed to have a disk to put in with the SATA drivers on it. Well, the drivers are on the mobo cd, but i dont know what i would need to have him put onto a floppy to put in when windows asks for the drivers.
Also, Seagates website has this thing "DiskWizard" that sounds like its supposed to do it, but i would think that the mobo cd drivers would be better to use.
Any help would be great, thanks.

You probably already did this, but try putting the cd into a different computer to put the drivers on disk. On my ASUS A7V600 I found the driver at [CD Drive]:\Drivers\VIARAID\SATA\driver\Winxp, but that has the VIA KT600 chipset CD.
Hope you found this helpful

When installing WinXP, there should be a message at the bottom that says something along the lines of "Press F2 to install third-party SCSI drivers." Hit the key it mentions and insert the SATA driver disk when XP requests them.

Get the SATA drivers from here and put them on a floppy.

Well, we finally got the Hdd detected by the bios, but the problem still remains about getting windows to recognize it for the install, im about to try the drivers that taco provided the link to, that apparently i couldnt find even though i tried on the asus website, thanks for the help guys, if they dont work, ill post again.
