RAM dissapering ?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Ok I have an Emachines(I know, it was cheap for a reason) T2865 with a:

AMD 2800+ that runs at 2.093ghz.
160 gig HD
DVD-RW
Cd drive
Geforce fx5200 128mb
onboard Geforce mx440

Now here is the problem, the package says it comes with 512mb RAM, but when I got it it only has 448mb (I found this by right clicking the "My Computer Icon). Then yesterday I noticed that it dropped to 384mb of RAM. I have no clue what to do.

The only thing I messed with is the 3d card, the computer came with an onboard geforce mx 440, and I bought the FX 5200 as an upgrade(I got it dirt cheap so dont tell me that it sucks, its better than an mx440). Now I disabled the onboard card, and everything was good. Then I thought, "Man, this is running everything the same as the MX440" So I went into BIOS to have a look see. Now, I'm smart enough not to mess with stuff that I don't know about. Ok, so in my BIOS I found that it was limiting my card to 64mb. So I set it to 128mb, saved, and exited. That is the ONLY thing i changed.
I did this almost a month ago.

This is also what I found, and the source of my worries; Now, yesterday while in my BIOS under the RAM/ Memory section it said 512mb RAM. Why would it say differant numbers in Windows ? So I checked again today and sure enough, BOIS says 512, windows says 384. Why would it do this?

Does anyone know why my RAM is dissapering? I don't know if the whole 3d card has anything to do with it, but I thought I should tell ya'll that. The number of RAM that I have, is 512 minus 128 = 384. why would makeing BIOS run my 128 card take away my RAM ?

And thanks for any help you can give me.

the motherboard is allocating the ram you set (64...whatever) to onboard video, as it is supposed to.
