dvd drive problem

Help...my DVD driver wont read DVD's. It is in a Toshiba laptop with a SD-c2202 DVD rom drive. It stopped working after a virus attack. All software has been re installed from scratch including win 98.
The drive reads CD and data but not DVD. It won't read in explorer either but will on data and CD's.
I have installed three players, no joy. have re-installed driver.
Can anyone help. It did work prior to the re-install.

Go to the manufacturer of your DVD drive's website and redownload the firmware and drivers.
