Hey, just wondered what the difference is between a cd-r and a rewritable cd rom drive is. Or if there is no difference. Thanks,
Bobby

a cd rw will write to a rewriteable cd, a burner will not.

A CD-R drive(CD-Recordable otherwise known as a CD burner) can only write to a CD once. The change is permanent, hance the name 'burner'.
A CD-RW(CD-ReWritable), as the name implies, can be re-written. They are backward compatible so the CD-RW drive will also have the capability to use CD-R but, as redwench mentioned, not the other way around.
Just thought being a semi-newbi I might elaborate a little more.
www.howstuffworks.com has some good tutorials on this subject...check it out.
