Major Probs Asus 815 Sound

Hiya all,
I,m new here and really hope you can HELP me, Had to buy a new hard drive for sons computer, everything was fine re installing everything until we noticed theres no sound devices, i have tried re loading the audio from the asus cd SOUNDMAX but still doesnt work, Comp re boots says insert win 98 2nd edition to complete updates and canr find the drivers from the cd. Cannot play no sound devices at all and not recognised on control panel. ANY IDEAS PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

stick the drivers in a temporary file on your desktop, and remove the device from the control panel. reboot, and let it proceed normally. at some point, its going to ask if you want to specify a driver location, or let windows pick. hit the "have disk" option, and browse until you find the file you stuck on your desktop.

THANKS FOR RESPONDING TO MY PLEA OF HELP, BUT EVERYTHING HAS GONE PEAR SHAPE NOW, DOESNT RECOGNISE CD ROM NOW!!!!!!!WHAT A NIGHTMARE, ORIGINALLY ASUS 815E GRAPHICS CARD WAS INSTALLED WITH COMP, WITH SHARED MEMORY, WE CHANGED IT THAT A GFORCE2 CARD WAS PUT IN INSTEAD, NO PROBS SOUND STILL WORKED AND EVERYTHING WAS MUCH BETTER THAT WAS OVER A YEAR AGO. HIS HARDRIVE WENT DOWN LAST WEEK SO WE BOUGHT HIM A NEW ONE, INSTALLED EVERYTHING OK, ENFORCED THE G-FORCE CARD TO ACT AS THE GRAPHICS AND DISABLED THE ASUS, BUT NO SOUND AT ALL, I CANT EVEN INSTALL NOW FROM THE CD ROM WHATS HAPPENING,,,,,,
I,M GETTING DESPERATE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I,M OK WITH THE BASICS OF COMPUTING AND UPDATING EVEN INSTALLING NEW HARDWARE, WHAT AM I DOING WRONG !!!!!!!!!!!
ANYONE OH ITS COMING UP WINDOWS OPTIONS CABS WHAT DOES THIS MEAN
