MSN Messenger 6.0 and 6.1

Hi there, and thanks first of all for the help. I was part of the test group when MSN Messenger 6.0 was first introduced. I was able to log in a few times, and it worked fine. Then for some reason, it quit working one day. I sign in with my password, it brings up the hourglass, and signs in, but then it completely freezes and locks up my entire system, causing me to Ctrl+Alt+Dlt and usually have to reboot. This happened a number of times, so I decided to go back to using MSN Messenger 5.0, which works fine, and I've never had a problem with it. I would like to be able to take advantage of the webcam, and voice capabilities that are available on 6.0 and 6.1. I have a lot of family signed in with MSN that I could utilize these with. Anyway, I just downloaded the 6.1 version, and it's doing the same thing. I'd appreciate any feedback you can give me. I'm running on Windows 98.
