I am having trouble logging into MSN Messenger I get a error message that reads as follows: Sorry we could not sign-in because the sign-in name entered does not exist or your password is incorrect.
If you have forgotten your password, please click help in the main messenger window, and then click help topics for instructions on resetting your password.

I can sign-in to hotmail, msn etc. but I am not able to sign onto messenger with the .net passport service. I have a friend who is having the same problem and they have been told by microsoft that they had a virus,I ran nortons on their machine no virus found. As a matter of fact I even set up my .net passport on their machine. I refuse to pay microsft $3.50 per minute for their tech support. Tech support should be free if you know what I mean. Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

sign in automaticly and check the box that says sing me in automatically.
this should correct your problem
