i keep geting "computer will now shut down do to RCP suddenly shutting off, how do i fix this problem? anybody

Have you scanned for virus lately? Sounds like the blaster worm.

First i would disable RPC in services. To do this reboot. Then goto start
-> control panel -> administrative tools -> services -> find Remote Procedure Call -> right click on it -> stop -> then double click it
-> set startup type to disable. -> click apply.

Now the status should say stop....and startup type diable...now run this online virus scan. If one is found.

http://www.trendmicro.com for an online scan

If one is found, go here:
http://securityresponse.symantec.co...tools.list.html
Find the proper removal tool for it.

And follow there instuctions.

Then do windows update.

Afterwards. Re-enable RPC
