Win 2k reboot loop

Hi, I am running, well trying to run Windows 2k pro, OS.
I put my hard drive into a new system, and all seems to go well on startup, untill after we pass the black and white starting Windows page, It automaticly reboots the computer, from bio chirp on up, its locked in a loop.
What has me truly aggravated is i sucessfully installed win xp on another partition drive of the same HD, and it works fine. But if i try to tell it to use the win 2k OS, we are back to rebooting.
Is there something I can do to break this cycle So I can speak to my baby again.
