MSN email problems

I am using MSN email as a way to receive news and other non priority emails. I have started to run into a problem that is leaving my hair on the floor and beleive me I don't have that much to begin with.
I cannot delet email messages. I also cannot switch to different folders.
I have turned off my firewall and popup add killer and am not running Nortons on my system. I have windows XP and Explorer and outlook are completly up to date.
Can anyone help????
