Pop Ups

I am having problems accessing my online banking site as the login screen is a Pop Up. The banks IT folks say it may be because pop ups are being stopped in some way by software I have installed. I have not intentially done this. I am wondering whether the new Sims game my daughter has installed may be causing a problem although the pop ups in her game operate with no problem. I can acess the site from my work laptop but not from my home PC?

nope, its not the game. its your security or browser settings.

Turn off your pop-up blocker at your browser site and back on after you leave.

I am using IE 5.5. What should the security settings be?

Check the settings on your work computer under tools>internet options and set them the same on your home computer although I don't think that there are any settings in IE that will stop pop-ups without a third party program. however, some sites use java script and if that is disabled on your home computer that could be the problem. Make sure that you check the security, privacy and advanced tabs on the internet options.
