Paint Shop Pro 8 wont open for me.....

I am having a problem opening PSP8. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it twice and no luck. I get the error message that says "This program has performed an illegal operation and will shut down"...I click on details and I get this:

Any suggestions as to what to do? I have attempted to go to Control Panel, add/remove programs and try to hit "repair" but the computer will freeze after I hit "repair" so my only option is to uninstall or leave it alone...Help!

hmmmmmmmm...im also using PSP8 coz im currently making boot screens for my winXP but i havnt encountered such problem wen i installed my PSP......maybe its the CD...not sure....dont worry some will reply on your thread who knows what to do...

either your operating system is broken, your psp installation is broken, or your ram is bad.
