Setting-up Internet Connection using router

Hi,

I had two computers linked to my cable modem through a d-link router (DL-704).

The one with which I am having a problem is an older computer running windowsme os. I set it up about 1 1/2 years ago, and it worked fine until I moved it to another room. It seems that I should have just been able to plug in the cable and it would work. Well, the best laid plans and all that stuff.

It's not the modem or router, I can switch the cables, and the newer computer still works fine.

When I try to open ie, I get an error message that says, "not able to open search". I also get an error that says DHCP is disabled. I don't have the original windows cd, so I don't know how to enable DHCP from the computer.

Can anyone help? Please

DHCP can most likely be enabled from the routers configuration ... I can on mine ...
