web presence on a hot tin roof

(things to think about while I compose thoughts into something plausible, perhaps even believable; words have so many meanings and connotations that anything I say has as good a chance as being misunderstood as much as a chance that it will be understood...)

Thailand defends Chickens somehow appealed to my sense of humor as I surfed the net for something newer than the last browse. I clicked on it and it was the Asian Bird Flu. Apparently there is a Great Chicken Massacre going on as the authorities try to find a Chicken named Custer.

I avoided politics this time...causecusses in Iowa bore me. I was more interested in why Oasis fired their drummer. I went over to reuters to see if they had anything more on it. nada. But they did have a big article about Romanian mothers who had been told their baby was dead being given back their babys alive two weeks later. Apparantly it is not safe to give birth in an Eastern European Hospital due to the marketing of babys for research or adoption. Might be time for them to go back to home birthing with midwives.

Seems to be as many crooked politicians and CEOs in the rest of the world as we have here in Empire USA. Perhaps more. I don't know why but that makes me feel better. The embattled governor of Con-Etiquett is the latest to blow a cushy job by doing something stupid. I for one could never stand an imcompetent crook. My view is if they are smart enough to find ways to skim some money off the top then good for them. The rest of us just have to live with the thought that there are people more clever than we are, and in a position to do something about it. Not to say we don't have clever thoughts too but for the most part we don't go there b'cause the infamous (they) won't let us or because we think it's stupid.

I tried accessing my real secret email account today. I really love it. It sometimes takes two days to get your email, if you get it at all, and there have never been any noticable spam. The ISP does this by apparently going offline at random intervals to thwart hackers. It may seem silly but once you study the patterns of unavailability, you can predict when they(the ISP) will actually be online.I went there originally to get a cool @ after my name. The place sorta reminded me of a bingo parlor full of old people marking cards and hoping for a big jackpot win.

So where am I at at this moment? It is 2:27 in the AM. Got up with cramping legs that snuck out of warm blankets in a cold room. I take pills. Pills that may or may not replenish or surpress minerals or chemicals already in my body and end the cramping and leave me in a good mood. This for me is the best time to write a column. I usually write till the pain is gone then I hit submit. I battle the thought of surfing the net for something. Something new. No. It's time to log off and try bed again -- this time with legs securely within warm blankets. Damn this cold weather. Damn this Cabin Fever.

I really really need to shop tomorrow for some soup or something. Food does affect one's mood and all. Maybe some Cashews, carrots, and dip. Healthy stuff to munch on as I surf and browse the net.
