charging for website?

Hello, everyone! I've been fooling around designing websites for my church, self, etc. and today someone asked me how much I would charge them to design one for their business. Now, I have no idea what people charge to build websites. Maybe some of you could kind of give me an idea? I'm not a professional mind you, but I wouldn't want to sell myself short either, if you know what I mean.

You can charge two ways - by the work or by the hour.

Most professional web design firms fees range from $50 to as much as $500 per hour for design work ... for freelance (like me) we usually charge $25 to $35 an hour for design.

You can charge by output, too ... like, your rate can be $100 for a 1-3 page website, up to $500 for a 5-10 page site.

So it really depends on how much trust you have in your skills, but I can suggest charging either $25 a page, OR $15 an hour, for starters, then work your way from that

Thanks Laggy! That's just the guidance that I needed. And thanks to you to Arthur for the compliments!
