Blizzard's Tech Support

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Kdr Kane

I decided to try and point people to Blizzard's web pages.

Why the hell did Blizzard write their support pages in javascript? You can't link to the pages. Don't they want to cut down on their support troubles?

Seems pretty stupid to me.

Posted by: Canis Lupus

Yeah, they don't seem to want people linking directly to the definite support answers ... they want people to go to the support page and search from scratch ... sucky...

Posted by: redwench

blizzard? support? in the same sentence?

*brain explodes*

Posted by: DemonBob

Isn't that an oxymoron??? Kinda like Miltary Intelliance. Don't want them in the same either.

Posted by: Null Actor

Actually, each page has a link URL near the top, that if you link to it will work correctly

Posted by: Canis Lupus

Actually, it doesn't anymore, Nova ... It has "Problem ID" and Solution ID" numbers at the bottom, but no direct URL ... Blizzard got rid of that too, it seems.

Try visiting it again and you'll see what I mean, hehee...

http://www.blizzard.com/support/

Posted by: Outlaw

you can still make a link to it by using this:
http://www.blizzard.com/support/index.asp?action=Solution&BugID=297
and replace the number (297) with the "problem id" you see at the bottom, like laggy said

Posted by: Kdr Kane

I just tried your suggestion, SniperIII. It pulls up the wrong solution.

Posted by: Outlaw

no it doesnt, I just tried it again.
make sure that you're using the problem id, not the solution id

Posted by: Kdr Kane

Yep. It works your way.

It's still sucky in my opinion.

Posted by: Outlaw

I didnt say I liked it either

Posted by: Null Actor

errr... my bad I guess. I wonder why they changed it?

Posted by: Wargasm

why did bush not agree with the kyoto agreement ???
dume tee dum
companies do not make sense

Posted by: redwench

because bush thinks :

a) the us economy is more important than curbing global warming

b) the treaty would have a negative effect on the us economy

therefore:

c) the treaty is bad

Posted by: Charon the Hand

it's because Bush and his oil buddies really and truly believe that global warming is:

a) not happening
b) not happening because of human intervention
c) not changeable within a non-glacial time frame and therefore not worth thinking about
d) boring

I couldn't agree more.

Posted by: redwench

lets see charon.
a is nonsense, because even bush admits that there is global warming.
b pretty much is the same as c.
d. well, ya got me there. bush may indeed find it boring.

no reasonable person disputes that global warming is happening. the only disagreement is the cause. if we are the cause, obviously we have to do something about it. if its a natural phenomenon, then were sol.
its pretty damn hot here in the summer now. i dont want it hotter. i like green.

Posted by: Kdr Kane

Then I must be unreasonable. How come I saw a show where they interviewed some of the scientists from the Global Warming Summit. Over 4,000 international scientists agreed there was a problem with global warming.

They forgot to mention the other 11,000 international scientists that disagreed.

Posted by: redwench

since there are more than 15k scientists in the world, those are hardly representative numbers. but most unaffiliated scientists agree that the planet is getting warmer. the cause is in dispute, not the warming trend. there are people who still say that jews werent gassed at auschwitz. one big case in great britain about that right now.

Posted by: Kdr Kane

You forgot to say unaffiliated and unqualified.

I've heard scientists say that it might even help for the Earth to warm a bit. Anybody that thinks that people can really have a significant effect on the climate are living in a fantasy. You need to get out and see the huge world.

I said a majority of the scientists in the world don't believe in global warming. Not a minority of hate mongers. Keep your story straight.

Change the subject of my posts and you will suffer! hehe

Posted by: redwench

i think unqualified is extreme, regardless of which side youre on. neither you nor i have any knowledge of thier qualifications. and what idiot would say the earth needs to warm up? most of the occupied land areas are already quite toasty in the summer, if not year round. increased temperatures bring diseases and desertification. parts of the middle east and africa are already having wells dry up.

and to say we cannot change the climate is nonsense. we may not be causing global warming, im not going to get into that arguement. but we certainly have the ability. chernobyl radiation got to england. a large hunk of land in the great lakes region was called the great black swamp, now its farmland. the removal of forests is causing various and sundry problems with erosion, wildlife, and pollution.

you are aware that humans are the cause of acid rain in most instances? and i love to pervert topics. that is my goal in life.

and why would you call them hate mongers because they disagree with you? someone having an opinion on climate change is no more a hate monger prima facie than a tiger is a man eater.

I'm not even going to get in this argument.
