i recently got a virus and had to install a new windows xp now no games work and the sound does not work i got the error 22 message for diablo i looked on this site for an answer ive gotten the latest directx but can some1 tell me how to reinstall the video drivers or update them i dont know what type of video card i have

It sounds like all you have to do is install the latest drivers for your video card as well as your sound card. Where you get the drivers depends on who makes your video card and sound card. I'm assuming that when you installed Windows XP, it installed the basic VGA drivers that come with Windows, and they're inadequate for Diablo II and not appropriate for your system.

Do you have a "brand-name" system like a Dell, Compaq or Gateway? If you do, its documentation should tell you what kind of video card you have. If you have a custom-built system, ask whoever built it what kind of video card you have.

Once we know what kind of video card you have, I will show you where you can get the latest drivers for it. Same for the sound card as well.
