CD/DVD-ROM issues

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I've got a pioneer DVD drive and a lite-on CDRW drive that have worked wonderfully for the past 2 years or so, until now. Today they stopped recognizing CDs. If I put a CD into my DVD drive a window pops up saying it is not in a format windows can read, if it goes into the CDRW drive nothing happens at all (just shows blank contents). Device Manager shows they are working properly with no conflicts, I have made no changes to the drivers or anything like that recently. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling and sytem restores. The weirdest part is that if I leave a CD in one of the drives and restart the computer, it will show up as being in there and works perfectly when windows starts. But if I hit eject and put it right back in it dissapears. Ideas?

*bump*
No one has ideas? This is really getting annoying and I'm out of ideas
