Problems copying CDs

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I tried to copy some files onto another CD. The writer works but when I try to play it on the DVD drive, nothing appears. When I explore the content of the CDRw, it says it has files in there.
I am not really a techie so simple stuff like this boggles my mind.

Some helpful info:
Intel Pentium 4
40G 5400RPM
512 PC266
Sony 16/40 DVD
Asus 52-32-52 (burn proof)

If you say play, that means they're either music files or video files. In your system or default media player (such as windows media player), autorun for music or video is disabled (meaning it won't start when you put it into your CD or DVD drive). Under your Media Player options (usually found in the tools menu), search for something that says autorun or autostart cds. If you find something of the sort, set it to autorun. If this doesn't help, then your operation system autorun option is set to off. It is especially easy to set it to off in windows xp. Try telling me what Operation System you have and what Media Player you have. You can also play the files by opening up your CD-ROM and double clicking on the file you want to play.

Windows XP pro
Windows media player

Did what you told me, opened cdrom & double clicked on the file

it's in autoplay

I don't have xp but i think you right click the cd-rom and either click on configure autoplay or go into properties where there should be like a list of things windows can do when you put a cd in (nothing, open cd folder, play audio files...). Select Play Audio Files or somethin like that and try to see if anywhere on that tab there is an autoplay option.

Did everything you said but still nothing happened. as always, the media player hangs. could it be that i didn't copy it right?
My officemates didnt have a hard time copying this presentation file. This is the problem with non-tech people like me.

Will still try, and thanks VmanBeBop
