I am have a problem getting windows to install. The monitor has a yellow light, which is related to the video card. I am trying to fiure out how to get the card working so I can load windows xp on the hard drive.
Can anyone help me with this. I am sure there is a simple way to do it, but it escapes me.
Thank you, rugby490

Hello

Firstly the yellow light on the monitor does that mean that it is in stanby your monitor, most monitor if they have not got a signal from the computer they show a no signal display on the monitor, my monitor goes all white to tell me that it cannot sense the computer, and it has yellow text onscreen that says test program then it says what resolution it is in like 1024 x 768 at 85 hz. if there is no signal from your graphics card, if you can take you lid of the computer then i would either reset the bios chip, or the simple way is to take out the batery from the board then put the batery back. do this when there is no power to the board. this resets you bios chip, and then should say bios error on screen, then all you need to do is set the bios back up again, then you can install windows xp.

Regards

Andrew

Try going to the windows xp website and seeing if your video card is compatible with windows xp.
