I have a pentium II and I erased some of the registry keys to try to get rid of a popup. Now the computer won't recognize the hard drive. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for having a site like this. It is really helpful.

i am assuming the bios recognizes the drive and windows does not?

this is why you really shouldnt make registry changes yourself. do you have a restore of any kind available to you? if not, and you have 2k or xp, you can boot from the cd and try the repair option. 98 and me also have this option, but it isnt reliable.

a reinstall without format should do it if repair doesnt work.
