Connecting Laptop to TV

Hi,
I have a HP Pavilion notebook which has a Video outut. I want to connect my laptop to 27" sony wega TV. I have a RCA cable which connect laptop to TV.
When i try connecting using RCA cable I am getting laptop screen on TV but it is Grainy, not clear and keep scrolling.
Can anybody help with this. Should i check my display settings? what that should?

First, the screen on the TV will look like crap because a TV has horrible resolution (lower than 640x480). Second, you may want to adjust the refresh rate for the tv - you may have it set too high (or possibly too low).
There are some new 32 inch TVs that natively support 800x600 resolutions from computers, but they cost over $1200.
