Sorry lost my head = ignore last post

Have you tried a System Restore? (That is, if you have XP)

Posted by: Gsry

Thanks MrMoose and 1stKnight for your help. MrMoose, system restore didn't work. I then tried the "Add/Remove Windows Components" and this partially worked but I want to completely remove it. Any more ideas? Thanks,Gary

I have spent the last hour looking for documentation on this subject to no avail. Sorry.

The only info. I can find says to do a system restore.

Off hand, the only other thing I can suggest is to "physically" remove it by deleting its entries in the registry.

I am not a registry expert and I don't want to be responsible for leading you astray and causing you more problems; so, I won't tell you about how to do that. Perhaps, you already know how to that.

Good luck. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Thanks anyway MrMoose. My quest goes on! Gary

The only way to get rid of Media Player 9. Is to reformat and reload.
Microsoft deliberately made in uninstallable although they do warn about this before the installation.

why do you want to uninstall WMP anyway?

Thanks wacheif and rdbogart for your advice. I couldn't create two separate libraries and there is no separate window to drag and drop songs to a playlist to play and see the whole list. There was other minor issues as my frustrated memory recalls. I went to the Install/Uninstall Programs and unchecked the Windows Media Player and it has at least disappeared from my sight! It probably is still lurking somewhere though! Ha Ha! Let me know what you think of my method. Thanks again, Gary
