Hi, im using phpnuke 7.0 on a redhat 9 server. i installed phpnuke 7.0 and for some reason a after a user signs up, he/she doesnt recieve a confirmation email. Mabe its something that i have to do? do i have to unblock a certian port on my firewall. also is there a way that i can let users sign up without email activation. thanks for alll who help

Well im not sure about phpnuke 7.0 since i have not used it. But most portal software usally have the option in the admin to disable options like that. As for the firewall make sure port 25 is open. That is usally the standard mail port.

I'm using phpBB and all it requires is my SMTP mail server. I'd just make sure that it's entered correctly in your config section.

same here mail.yourdomain.com

I tried that. the problem is my isp blocks port 25. so i think thats the problem. but when i try to use pop with mail.abc.com it says Error: 113 No route to host. but on my computer when i type in the private ip (192.168.0.154) it works. As for sendmail, im not sure how to work around that. cuz in the browser when i type mail.abc.com it opens my site :S

I don't see how your ISP blocks port 25. That is required if you use Outlook Express or any other mail client. Unless your ISP is using some oddball configuration, that doesn't make any sense.

Are you on a home network? Could be that you need to enable port forwarding...
