Hey all,
I'd like to know what you guys think about my first attempt at building a website and what I can do to make it better. I'm kinda bitter with the web hosting company as they don't accept Frontpage Extensions thus not allowing to have a search page or feedback section, any suggestions on how to get around this?
Thanks
AttackOfTheY2KBug
PS This was done using Frontpage, do you think GoLive or Dreamweaver are better programs for a web developing noob? If so what do they offer that Frontpage doesn't?

The site I built for this politician is www.ericmackenzie.ca

Oh by the way I think the hit counter is a problem due to no Extensions

Font/Buttons are too big. It pushes the browser window out, and people like it better when they don't have to scroll sideways.

Not a bad start Very clean and straightforward. I would suggest putting the menu buttons in a column to the left so as not to inconvenience people who use lower resolutions on their computers.

Frontpage is great to a limit... You might be able to try out Dreamweaver since it's a better program (I rarely use Frontpage now, and if I do, it's only to create quick tables). Dreamweaver is easy to learn, too, but the learning curve is a little steeper than Frontpage. Dreamweaver has more design options than Frontpage, and works more easily with scripting (and Flash animation, if you move on to that type of web development).

A suggestion on getting around the Frontpage extensions would be, naturally, to either learn some CGI/Perl, or go to a script repository like http://cgi.resourceindex.com or http://www.hotscripts.com and download a free counter, search script or feedback form.

Good luck on the page!

Thanks, I'll keep that stuff in mind.
As for scrolling sideways, I never noticed a problem as I'm running UXGA, I'll fix that up.
