Distinguishing between myself and some rather hairy fruitloops

Ever wonder about the mysterious existence of fruitloops and other assorted sticky sweets that end up covered in dust and hiding in a place that you can clearly see but never get to?
well I do. I'm not a hairy fruitloop, though I do resemble one in many ways. I'm not obsessed with hairy fruitloops, though i suspect a number of highly advanced ones are obsessed with me, following me around, sitting where I sit (just before me usually). Evil or just misguided. Perhaps not for me to decide.
Anyway, my name is actually Luke, though I have a habit of signing things 'm.', and I'm a lifer techie. Sat in front of my 1st computer, a bbc model b, before I was old enough to know what a computer was, I have now bore out my fate and am running a small IT department for a not so small charity in the UK.
I suppose now would be a good time to mention I don't like computers. At all. I have more computer knowledge stuffed into my not so little noggin to write techie manuals for the rest of my natural life, and yet am faced daily with problems I (and often noone else) have never encountered before.
Hence I find myself here, talking like a loon in my lunch break, hoping beyond all reasonable hope that the collective knowledge of those that reside here can solve my regular whiffs of confusion. If I'm really lucky I might even be able to return the favour. I wont hold my breath though... don't get enough exercise...

Welcome! This is a wonderful place full of highly knowlegeable folks who have great patience. They even tolerate my inane questions, and I know less about computers then a hair on on of your fruitloops! Do sit down and enjoy yourself.
