Image slice too dark

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

First post, ill try not to make it too general. In Photoshop 7.0/Image ready I have an image slice, which will be a nav bar, well it already is. But I added a drop shadow to each layer(7 layers), and now the whole picture has a dark grey shade, not a background, or another layer, but like an overlay that is dark grey. When it should have just the layers with transparent backgrounds. Any suggestions?

You may be compounding the shadow effect, if I'm understanding your post correctly. My advice would be to press the images into a single layer, apply the drop shadow, then break them down again.

It worked, I tried grouping the layers at first, but it didnt work, but then I flattened the image, and it worked perfectly. The layers did not really matter, I already had the NavBar finished, just wanted a drop shadow. Thank you!!!
