what software do i need in order to rip a DVD into an AVI or MPEG format, suggestly using DIVX or XVID encoder? (not copyrighted, sam's dad created this DVD of our show on feb. 21st, it includes warm up, our show, and awards)

Check out www.doom9.net, they have alot of tutorials on video editing/dvd ripping.
