Calling all experts... i needed help to know what software to use to be able to connect our pc "my pc" -p4 1.7ghz/xp and "her's" p3 833mhz/win98 that she can use her pc and connect to the net without me having to stand for a while and chacha while she send email in "my pc"? also what hardware(s) needed? i have an internal modem/no lancard while she has both in her pc. Thanks a lot! i'm looking forward to hearing from you guys before a major chaos ensues!

For confirmation: You are trying to network a Win XP machine with a modem card and Win 98 machine with a modem/network card? Also your only access to the internet is dial up and you have a single phone line?

Sounds like you need a router a network card for the XP machine and connect the two systems. Then you could use the dial up connection, assuming thats the type of ISP you use, on your machine and connect her through the router - I think. That might be bad on bandwith though depending on what you both are doing. Email only should be find though.

Kinda tired from running load in/out at a huge show this weekend. I'll see how you respond and then probably follow up with more clarity once I collect my thoughs and get some more sleep
