dierctx or direct3d problems

help me pls! my system used to run fine a few weeks ago but now im experiencing new problems when i try to run any games like nba live or c&c zero hour an error msg. appears "pls make sure that you have directx 8.1 or higher installed and that you video card meets the minimum sys req." and when i run dxdiag and try to test direct3d and this error happens "Direct3D test results: Failure at step 1 (Loading Direct3D DLL): HRESULT = 0x80004005 (Generic failure)"
my pc specs are a pentium4 1600mhz, geforce2 400mx 64mb, 128 ddr. i have directx 8.1 and the newest driver for my videocard.

Sounds like something got corrupted. I'd suggest re-downloading DirectX and your video card drivers and see if that helps.

that used to work but now it wont. cuase ive already done reinstaling directx and my videocard drivers yet it still wont run. thanks anyways!
