Post your Anime Film Collection!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Canis Lupus

Hehehe, started this thread coz I am just preparing to watch Akira: The Special Edition on DVD, and I was wondering if anyone else was into Japanese animation

Wipe that drool off, Nova!

Anyway, here's my personal collection:

Akira (DVD)
Ninja Scroll (DVD)
Ghost in the Shell (DVD)
Urotsukidoji: The Perfect Collection (DVD)
Lodoss War - Complete Set (DVD)
Wicked City (DVD)
A Wind named Amnesia (VHS)
And a couple of hentai, hehe

Planning on buying the Macross saga (not the ones in the Robotech series, but the original Macross) on DVD and maybe I'll try Cowboy Bebop DVD series...

Now I'm off to watch some anime

Posted by: Gerbilo

I got AK47's Cowboy Bebop 1 & 2 DVDs

Posted by: KickingBird

GIMMIE GIMMIE GIMMIE.

Mail your DVDs to me now. Or die a horrible anime character death involving the oh so humor filled image of a pair of empty, smoking footwear.

In short, "All your DVDs are belongs to me."

Posted by: Swilo

Now you people have done it again, I don't know if I want to type all the titles in the collection. All are VHS, most were brought home with my brother from the army, so I have yet to watch them all, but am looking forward to all.

There's a few others, with no sleave or printing, that he copied off friends, so I don't know the titles without watching them. Feel free to try and top this collection. I plan on getting them all on my new comp via TV Tuner and burning them to CDs, they won't be DVD quality, but I'll still have them.

Good....no Sailor Moon....all is well with the world once again! (j/k)

Posted by: Shalome

Akira
Ghost in the Shell
Several episodes of Vampire Princess Miyu (which i highly recommend)
Several episodes of Evangelion
Patlabor (utterly incomprehensible)
Some Tenchi Muyo / Tenchi in Tokyo / Tenchi Universe we taped off Cartoon Network (we're addicted to it. it makes no sense and is a really dumb show, but somehow we can't stop watching... just to see what happens next...)

Gotta love it. When I was out in Long Beach, there was an anime convention going on at the convention center. All these people were walking around downtown long beach dressed as anime characters (or their personal attempts at such). It was great to see a guy with a samuri sword and bunny ears walking into a dance club. Wish I'd known about it beforehand, I would have gone!

Posted by: Swilo

A few anime tapes aren't in with the rest for some reason...
A few sailor moon episodes and a movie (I didn't know they made movies)
Transformers and GI Joe (Do they count?)
American Pop and Heavy Metal, they don't look like anime, but have some japanese animators

Posted by: AK47

my collection is small just because im broke and the little money i have goes towards games...

Cowboy Bebop 1 (DVD)
Cowboy Bebop 2 (DVD)
Cowboy Bebop 4 (DVD)
Ninja Scroll (DVD)

thats all I got now, but my brother has an assload. He just started with the ruroni kenshin series on DVD. So he has like 7 of them, some blue sub 6, some trigun, neon genesis, ghost in the shell...etc. I just dont have the funds to own that many. I only want my anime on dvd, but when its on DVD its quite expensive..oh well

My List:

1 anime-freak daughter with approximately 54 tapes, some with 3 movies on one. Konichiwa!!

Posted by: uh...ok

I'm surprised no one has DBZ, Ranma, or Gundam.

And hey, Sailor Moon wasn't too bad.

No one has ever seen Urusei Yatsura? That anime is the coolest!

-uh...ok

Posted by: Swilo

I have about 50 episodes of Ranma on my hdd that fried, I can redownload in college for $8, and had about a gig of dbz, more available online for another $8. I have no money, so I can't buy my own, and I've heard good things about Uresai from other people. Gundam I just watch on TV.

==============================
Okay, I guarantee that this isn't all that I've watched. I just can't remember all I've watched over the past 21 years of my life. My legit (I support the anime industry by buying when I can) collection is pretty small because I've only been collecting for about 7 years. Eventually I'll replace all my favorite VHS ones with DVDs, hopefully

support subs, not dubs
support subs, not dubs
support subs, not dubs
support subs, not dubs
support subs, not dubs

hehe sorry... I have this gripe with subs VHS costing more than dubs VHS. With DVDs that isn't much of a problem since companies usually have and include both.

man, that's a huge list

Here's a treat (well to those who don't know this site :-)

For those curious as to what anime is, come try and watch some. Not the best, but something to get your feet wet with.

Also for those who can't get enough of anime. Not the best, but you might enjoy a title or two.

This site has permission from Manga Entertainment to stream these full-length anime features. So sit back, relax and enjoy.

wait a minute, how can you list urot(will not attempt to spell it past this point) in the movies, and then have a hentai section?

I think that movie qualifies, from what I saw of it.

I don't have an anime collection (I've been anime deprived, only catching the few late night double features on this or that channel), but as of a couple weeks ago I'm planning the ordering of:

Akira Special edition.
ghost in the shell special edition
Vampire hunter D special edition (ordering that very soon actually)
armitage 3 (It's a bit fruity, but it was the first anime I actually sat down and watched in it's entirety)

anyone know when VHD2K is coming out for VHS/dvd?
