Is it possible to take a cassett tape and burn it to a CD? If so; I have a cd burner and a tape player, but what other devices do I need to perform this? Any answers of help is appreciated.
Thanks April

you would need pretty good studio equipment to do that properly. you can, however, play the cassette into a microphone connected to the computer, and rerecord the contents on the computer. you can then convert them to the type of sound file you want and burn them to cd. the quality will probably be horrendous, but if its stuff you cannot download, then thats the way to do it.

cant you buy a cassette recorder and a cd recorder in one in a sterio? ifso (witch im pretty sure you can) cant you just take the cassette and play it then record w/ the cd burner in your serio?

If you have some way to hook the tape player to the line in on your comp that would work much better than a mic. The quality would be at least as good as what your tape player can put out. That's how I do it. I have a Optimus dual cassette deck hooked to my comp on the line in jack and I use MusicMatch (it has a recorder function that inputs from the line in) and record the music on the HD. Then MusicMatch will burn a CD with the music files.

Thanks for the input, it sounds as though it is easy to have a cassette player hooked to the computer, I'm not very bright on computers but what kind of hook up do I need? (Cable etc)

If all else fails, you can always go to your local Radio Shack and ask one of the people there to recommend a cable that will let you jack your "line out" on your cassette player to your "line in" on the back of your computer. There may be adapter components involved.
