air force fun

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

why is it harder to get into the armed services then out?

i am atempting to join the air force, and man its hell. I go there about 2 months ago, to mephs(where you go to take your physical) im doing my stuff, then they tell me my recruit forged something on my papers, i gotta come back another day, i only had 2 more test outa like 30 to take. They said they will save my work and i just pick up where i left off. here is what my recruiter did - to give permision to let the goverment use your asvap scores(the miltarys standered intelgiance test) you gotta sign something, i live about 1 hour away from my recruit so he signed it for me, and forgot to tell me. Well they did not like that at mephs. so i went home, come back a month latter(today). Get there, and they tell me they can't find my paper work, and it probably made its way to the shreader. im like err ok getta redo everything... damn it... But then since i was here before they already gave my an acount, and they froze it, so it would no be changed so i can save my data, but they never put any data in(this made no sense to me ither do not worry)normaly your acount is a number that = yours socail securaty, so 2 hours latter they just give me a new one. Heres the problem the new number they give me is only 1 diget away from some one elses number, so to every one of the 30 test i go to this day, they think i got a repeat number, spend like 10 minutes checking it out. Ok i do all that, and there computer systems go down, i do not getta pick a job, and i have to come back again. I spent 13 hours their today, and about 10 the other day( a month ago). I get to go back and pick my job, then go and take the edpt(the advanced intelgence test) then go back and repick my job. ERRRRRRRR

xon, what did i tell you about the air force? huh?

*whomp*

you are not going back. you will go to college when you finish high school. none of this miliary crap.

Posted by: JANNA

dont worry xon the mephs center is part of the weeding out proccess so they get only the folks that TRULY want to be there. stick with it hehehe. thats the hardest part. basic is a cakewalk compared to the mephs center ehhe

Posted by: Chako

Ah! Just imagine all the fun you will have when it comes to pay day.

Posted by: laborat

Chako's right Xon,

lots of fun.. lets see, a months pay could
buy you a burger with fries...buy new polish for
your boots, cover the money you borrowed before
payday, pay for the blackmarket manuals you have
to have that are not in stock, cover part of the off base doctor's bill you had to go to since the base facility didn't have any good ones, did I mention LOCKS for your trunks?

btw we used to call the air forcees, "Wingys"
you sure you want to be known as a Wingy thingy?
Wingys are wusses. They let women fly the gas trucks,
while the best pilots do air shows and flyovers, the
rest of them keep trying to land their planes on a carrier
deck...(we have more planes in the sea than ships).

Reds right... go to college...become a republican and buy your own plane after you sell your worthless online business for billions.

heh, I've heard them called Zoomies. Either way, its better than being called semen.

lousy chair force. My brother tried to talk me into it (hes in the navy- go figure). I said hell no, Ill pay for my own college.

Xon- I hope youre not going into the Chair force to be a pilot, only about 2% make it to pilot. Its tough as all hell. Prepare to be dissappointed

im not worried about pay(going in as an e3 or e4), we get our own rooms now. Boot camp gonna be a walk in the sun, i ran cross country for years, i can do 40 push ups right now. But mephs is insane. I saw 4 people get kicked out for being to stupid to shut up. Me and my roomate(they throw you in a hotel[if you wana call it that] for the night) had the highest asvap scores outa the 90million people there(me 96 him 99). I was qualifed for any job, that did not take good deph perspetion. He was qualifed for about 7 jobs with a 99 score, because he got a dui and failed the color vision test. Thats crazy, a perfect score and like no job choices. It was the lamest thing i ever herd

Posted by: laborat

NONE of the Services like perfect people. They are troublemakers and whistleblowers. They prefer scumbags they can mold. I keep telling you NEVER get a high score on anything. It just causes trouble down the line when pleading stupid might save your ass.
Our Arm Forces understand Stupid. People with Smarts probably voted for Clinton.

Posted by: AK47

I dunno what all that means. I dont believe the forces prefer scumbags.

As far as not getting a high score because it prevents from pleading stupidity in the future....well, if he got a high score, maybe he wont be in a situation where pleading stupidity will help..

Posted by: Chako

Yes, it does not pay to be very intelligent in the armed forces unless your paid to think. If your an average foot soldier, then that sort of thing could get you in trouble. Depends on the branch and ranks your going for. Anyway, Xoncide, do you know what the Airforce rank insignias look like? You can check them out at this site below. They sell stick on decals of all things.

Air force ranks

oh and by the way, anyone with E-8/E-9 ranking can be addressed as "God". I am sure they don't mind a bit.

Posted by: Xoncide

i wana be a general some day

Posted by: laborat

Generals are not paid to think, they are paid to make wrong decisions and get shot for it.

Posted by: AK47

if there is a war...

Posted by: Chako

That is when they get in trouble and get shot?

Posted by: Shalome

Officers do not get shot. Generals do not get shot.

Enlisted men and draftees get shot.

Right now I'm sitting in my office watching Good Will Hunting with a bunch of the Air Force reserves who have nothing better to do on the base at the moment, now that they're done checking their email.

Heh.

<---- ex air force here!
Xon
Number One, NEVER TRUST A RECRUITER!!!!!!!!!

Number Two, with those high scores you can do about anything they have? want do you want to do? do you want to go overeseas or stay state side? do you want to get the benfits or go career?

Number Three, why air force? why not "puddle jumpers"?( coast guard) or the USMC? ( uncle sams misguided children)hehe just kidding . xon email if you got questions

Posted by: AK47

ha- coast guard!

Posted by: Chako

From absurdity to reality…or is it the other way around.

I think they are allowed to carry weapons right? Coast Guard does seem to refer towards the notion of "protecting ones own coastline". Here in Canada, CGs aren’t allowed weapons for fear they may shoot off a foot, or sink their own boats. The Canadian Govt is saving millions with this policy. Can you imagine precious CG boats sinking due to bullet holes in the transom. This terrible state of affairs would have bankrupt the Country in no time flat. The cost of rowboats, cutters, and its ilk would be astronomical. Because our CG boys do want something offensive against the better armed East and West Coast fishermen, the Canadian Govt will allow the installation of slingshots on the bow of each CG boat. They will use wet sponges as ammunition…keeping in mind that wet sponges cannot go through the hull of any boat. As such, it is regulation that the slingshotman (yes that is what they are called) aim for the perpetuators face, in hopes that they blind the helmsman and save the day. Because the Govt knows this to be a difficult task on the High Seas….a Mountie will be included with each CG crew…because (as everyone knows) they always get their man!

Posted by: Canis Lupus

Hmmm, probably a stupid question, but how are Canadian CGs supposed to catch, say, robbers who are on a motorboat if they don't have any "real" ammunition?

Posted by: Chako

Actually the previous posting was a joke but many Canadian Coast Guard vessels do not carry weapons. Their mandate is much different then the American Coast Guard. Canadian Coast Guards tend to be work vessels. The larger vessels do have small arms on board, especially those in the Atlantic and Pacific ocean, but they are often kept in lockers unless direly needed. If they need the big guns, they call in the Navy. Their primary mandate is to keep the waterways clean (a large fleet of buoy tenders), ice breakers to keep the Northern passages free of ice and to deliver supplies, some scientific research vessels, etc… They do not have side arms issued to them, and don’t need em for what they do. They are highly trained in SAR (search and rescue). Not a military (some might say not even a policing) organization as you see in the US.

Posted by: Darkdesire

The US Coast Guard does carry live weapons.
Esp in the coastal areas of Florida, Texas and California.

I was considering entering the Coast Guard. In fact, I still am. It's all dependant on how this next year goes. I have a one year lease on a studio apartment in downtown Cincinnati (over the Rhine, actually... the area where the riots took place. Truthfully, I'm a block and a half from the center of all the violence (I suppose that explains why I got it so cheap..) and I will be attending an acceptable fine arts school on a full ride. If I enjoy myself and determine that life without provision is worthwhile, I'll stay. Otherwise, CG, here I come.
