I Just installed a Sony 52x32x52 internal CDRW. I am using Nero 6 software. The software recognises the maximum speed of the drive as 52x until I insert a disc, when it changes to a maximum write speed of 40x.
I have tried Memorex and TDK 52x disks but the same thing happens.
System is P4 3200 with 1 gig RAM.
How do I get the burner to write at 52x please?

To be honest I have had no problems using the same software but if it is not responding at all then send an e-mail to sony or ask currys/pcworld/wherever you got it from for assistance they may have inserted it wrong.

Can anyone help with this please? I installed the drive myself and it works perfectly; it's just that as soon as I insert a disc, both the write and read speeds change from 52x to 40x.
What did I do wrong?
