yeah, ive thought about it and i want to start picking out the parts for my computer i plan to build in may(ish) im going to start with a mobo... i have basicly no knowledge of motherboards so id like some help, whats good whats not and all that good junk... (incase you dont know i know a reasonable knowledge about computers)

i dunno how important this is but i plan to use my new computer for gaming but also alot for videos and pictures and yeah i guess thats it

now i dont want the top of the line, just like the next down or whatever... i dont wanna pay madd cash for something...

also i was leaning toward a amd processor but i might be persuaded to pick a p4

also as many expansion ports as possible plz

also gay question but ill ask now, how much of a preformance difference is there between ddr and sdr ram? i have been told not much BUT id like to know exactly how much (if there isnt really a diff ill prolly go w/ sdram just kuz i have some allrdy, and im a cheap mofo)

any ddr above 2100 will be a vast improvement over sdram. 2100 and below, it will still be a big jump if dual channel is enabled.

id probably suggest a barton core amd (around 3000), asus nforce2 board, and 1g pc3200. can you afford that?

I'd highly reccomend NewEgg, they have great deals on AMD processors especially.

Thee, you want me to help you build it? I mean, I am only 10 miles from you

Just IM me, and we'll get together ang get something better for you.

I have two "next down" setups that you'd like under 700 bucks for everything but the monitor and keyb/mouse.

Thee, give me a good idea of how much you're willing to spend on the entire thing. If I'm correct, you're only wanting the "box".

So far, I've came up with a half decent AMD and P4 system, comparable prices and speeds. Including XP Home and a decent hard drive. I'm not sure, but are you wanting a new burner?

Actually, let me know this way:

Out of your current machine, what all are you keeping, including monitor, mouse/keybaord, drives what? What all are you wanting/needing new of except for mobo/proc/ram/video card? IM me fool! You can use ICQ if I'm offline, I'll get the message.
