upgrade verison of XP

I am in the process of ghosting my disk for
the fun of it, and the experience, but I would
also like to buy XP upgrade. I plan to install
on a formatted 40G I have. When it asks for
proof of a previously owned CD of windows
will it accept my full verison cd of XP. Why
you ask would I buy an upgrade if I own the
full verison already. I experiment with to
much software and I like spending money!
O yes I want to do a clean install with the upgrade.

The upgrade xp is looking for a older version of windows. If you put in a windows 98 or 2000 disk it will look at it and then ask you to put xp back in and continue with the install.
