Uninstalled Visual Basic 5 - Now no popups

Hi, I have just uninstalled Visual Basic 5, to install Visual Basic 6 instead.

This all went OK, and Visual Basic 6 works fine.

However, Now popups wont appear. Examples of popups I mean are:
Clicking on the "You have new mail in MSN Messenger", normally, this opens my email in a new window, but this is not happening now, MSN just looses focus, and gains focus again.

Another example, when I just registered for this forum, it said I had a new message, and to click OK to view it, I clicked OK, and nothing happened.

One more, when I go to Live365.com website, to listen to the radio, and then click on a radio, it sais "We are unable to start the Live365 Player. If you have installed a popup-blocker, turn it off and try again."

I do not have a popup blocker installed, and this has only been happening since uninstalling Visual Basic 5.

Note: Visual Basic 5 was uninstalled during the installation of Visual Basic 6.

Im Running: Windows XP Home Edition

Try reinstalling MSN Messenger. You shouldn't lose any of your messenger settings doing this, but what ever the item was (likely a shared .DLL) that got removed during the uninstall process of VB5 never got reinstalled with VB6. Reinstalling MSN Messenger should replace the missing component.

Hey, its worth a try.
