I am researching for a laptop to run streaming video, video and audio recording and editing, and high end graphics. I have come across the Sony PCG-K17 $1900.00. It runs an ATI Radeon 345M shared video card. With 512MB DDR SDRAM (256x2). What will the graphics card share from the main memory ? Is this a viable computer for the applications mentioned ?

shared ram of any kind will not do for heavy duty applications. youll want a video card with its own memory. below should give you a place to start.

youre probably looking at something like a radeon mobility 9700
