TV Tuner card,Won't Tune

Hi,I need some input about trying to get TV Tuner card to work.Firstly I think this may be an issue with DirectX 9.The card is a K-World TV-PVR 883.I cant get it to tune in my cable channels.The card Tech info states DirectX 8 compatable.I running Win XP,thats a upgrade from ME,
I've also upgraded to DirectX 9,and dont know if this could be an issue with the Tuner card not working.I've tried to find a dirver update for the card,with no success.Iam considering trying to go thru the task of removing DirectX-9 and go back to 8.1from the CD.Dont know if this will help or not.
