i am having problem with my FD ever since we bought it. (june 2002) it sometimes sends me a message saying that the disk in a: is not formatted....(im at Win 2000 that time)

december 2003, i received a new FD as a christmas gift. i have upgraded to Xp now. at first my FD works fine but recently ive been experiencing the same problem: ID address mark. what should i do?...

and oh, by the way, my hard disk is not detected, for the second time and i havent got any back ups of my files thats why i cannot reformat my HD... the first time i had this problem i just loaded the default BIOS setting but now it wouldnt work.. pls help me. im only beginning to understand computers and afraid to damage it if i do something..

i badly need your help.. thanks

if its not detected, formatting wont help.

reflashing your bios is a possibility, if your floppy cooperates. you might want to monitor your voltages to see if they are in the correct range.
