Die... oh ye butchers of the English Language...may you fester, pustulate and swoon in some Cleaveresque laden TV cesspool of feigned normalcy.

Posted by: redwench

you people frighten me.

Posted by: DemonBob

I like fantasy like wheel of time, and sword of truth, they rock. But they are very big series

Posted by: taco_fox

I read books

I read fantasy books, and right now I'm reading The White Dragon by Laura Resnick. It's the second book in a trilogy which is turning out to be pretty damn good.

Before that, I read the 11 Deverry books by Katharine Kerr, and I'm waiting for the last two to come out . This is by far the best series I have read and I highly recommend it.

Posted by: Gunslinger

I like to read good writing.

The appreciation for reading is exactly proportional to your reasons for reading

Why, that's almost as bad as Nader running for office!

Posted by: Brandy

I love to read, and I read a little bit of every thing.. fantasy, science fiction, suspence, I don't care for romance books because they are all the same but other than that, if it sounds like it would be a good book, I'll read it.. Right now I am reading The Big Bad Wolf by James Patterson.. good read.. I just finished a Robert Jordan series..

Posted by: Cheese

I've liked everything I've read so far by Kurt Vonnegut. I'd recommend Cat's Cradle to anyone, and Slaughterhouse-Five if you want a pretty unique insight into World War II. It's about the author's time he was a prisoner in Dresden while it was being mercilessly firebombed by the US and others.

Posted by: Kibbles'n'Bits

I like mtg books... i've read only the masquerade cycle so far...

Posted by: Muggle_Man

I am shocked that so many ppl haven't read the LOTR books...I think I am going to have a seizure.... I read whenever I get a chance to!!! A few small good books I've read are Skellig and Kit's Wilderness, I also read The Sillmarillion ( BTW, if you read this for the first time and your brain starts to bleed...don't worry, thats suposed to happen...) once in a while

Posted by: TwiztidJuggalo

right now i am reading Dune. great book, but I am mostly a Tom Clancy person, but I think I might get into the Dune series, next I am going to read the House family books, like House Atreides, etc. But I have also read all the "Ender" books, that is a great series.

so mostly just fantasy, adventure, science fiction, and Tom Clancy-style

With this post, you have well past redeemed your self for your bad taste in music with your excellent taste in books.

Posted by: Muggle_Man

thats what I meant thee, some people have to read it like... 8 times before it eventually makes sense
The book I am reading right now is called Enchanter by Robin W. Bailey..it's ok, but I get the feeling the author kinda threw it togather fairly fast.... the next books I'm going to read are the warcraft books, or the Diablo books...
*watches Thee start to bleed*

Posted by: Antti2004

Wow, I only read Donald Duck in finnish.

Posted by: tovarich

Me and my wife we love to read. Lately we're devouring the writing of: Kathy Reichs, Patricia Cornwell, Michael Connelly.

Posted by: INeedHelp

My favorite ones are The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, and my World of Warcraft manual.

Oh and to quote from one of the members from this board (can't remember who), "HOLY THREAD BUMPING BATMAN!"

Posted by: Erekose

if you liked the da vinci code, try out the dante club by matthew pearl...

right now i am reading raptor by gary jennings

Posted by: tamiseagam

try Reader's Digest...

Posted by: Gunslinger

Just read good writing. I prefer to focus on writing that is good, instead of a genre that I like. It's much more rewarding to me that way as I quickly learn to enjoy other genres and subjects.

Posted by: Pepsi-Man[OTS]

i read the xanth series by pierce anthony... i think his name is spelt that way. it has escaped me for now.

Posted by: TheeMon

wow teh pepsi is back...

Posted by: Bix VT

^^ werd.

I like readers digest as well, they have lots of good stuff...although I also enjoy Car and Driver very much. they have the wit of a brit and the not caring who they offend of a yank.

Posted by: Muggle_Man

Hooray!!! Someone else read the Xanth series!!! .....yah...um....I'm reading the Cantacle right now, it's pretty good, and I read all of the SC, Diablo, and Warcraft books....and then read the entire LOTR trilogy...again....MUHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! ...and then I'm going to order the new Warcraft book...1337

Posted by: Labrynth

I love to read, i have read LOTR (including unfinished tales, silmarillion, etc.), the In Legend Born/In Fire Forged series by laura resnick, a massively unappreciated series. the best series' ever are without doubt the Tranformation/Revelation/Restoration trilogy by Carol Berg, and the World at War series by Harry Turtledove!

Years ago I used to read alot. No movie can ever compare to a good book. But lately due to my mmog habit the only things I have read was the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings Trilogy (all before the first movie came out) and Flight of the Phoenix(I loved the orginal movie and want to see the new one but I can tell from the previews it is alot different from the first movie and book).

If you don't read much and would like to get into something easy to read and full of action see if you can find Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs. It was the first book of a series written a long time ago and has some of the greatest action of all time. That series got me through some tough times back in the '70's while I was in the military. Would make a great movie.

Posted by: taco_fox

I started the Farseer trilogy by Robin Hobb. Got the second book yesterday and I'm already halfway through it. Very good books

Posted by: Erekose

reading Rules of Ascension by David Allen Coe right now, read through Choice of the Cat (from the Vampire Earth series) last week... and there are about 6 or 7 more books people want me to read. this is better than the library!

Just wanted to follow this up since I finished the ninth and final book of the series a few nights ago. Robin Hobb is quite possibly the best fantasy author ever. I liked the Farseer trilogy the best, but the Liveship Traders and Tawny Man trilogies aren't slackers either.

I recommend everyone who's into fantasy start on Assassin's Apprentice and see how you like it.

Posted by: 9:35

I'm about half way through Dreamcatcher and a third of the way done with my ~40th reading of The Long Walk, both by Stephen King.

Posted by: TwiztidJuggalo

I read Tom Clancy and Orson Scott Card mostly, but right now I am reading 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

Tom Clancy is an awesome writer, I love his detail into things, my fav book The Hunt for Red October

Orson Scott Card is an amazing fantasy science writer, my fav series by him is of course the Ender series.

Moby Dick (Herman Melville).

I'm about a quarter-way through.

Intricate. Very intricate.
A whale of a book...

Posted by: Muggle_Man

I have nothing to read...I trying to find more dragonlance books, and the second book about drizzts homeworld....I just read a 300 page book under an hour, I'm kinda freaking out 0_o
