Is TG down?

I know about all the fun Wargy is having right now in regards with web hosting etc....I tried to get onto his site earlier (via the links found on OTS) and couldn't. Was wondering if the move is going on right now.

I dunno, but I think it has to do with their server being hit by the Code Red II variant?
As for the move, I think they just finished moving the domain name over to the new server a couple of days ago ... aside from that, I have no idea

I was talking to bobbo about it, I think TG is moving servers or whatnot...
He says some people can see it, he and i cannot, atleast last time i checked

yeah, i cant get anywhere past the main page. i think its my isps dns cache. hope it switches over soon, im in withdrawal.

Hmmm ... even if the DNS was propagating, we would either see a 404 error page or the page itself ... when I try to visit it, it tries to connect to an IP address but it just won't load ... me thinks it's a server problem, although I could be wrong
:edit: Just tried pinging the-group.org, and it resolves to an IP address, ping time is good, but I guess the httpd is down for some reason...

All I know Laggy, is that I get the same thing. Tries to load the page, but eventually times out with a msg that the page could not load.

Ok...looks like TG is back on line....slow as molasses though.

its speeding up slowly... P404 is back up also for any that were wondering

For some unknown reason I can't post in the TG forums. I keep getting this
Error including required files: ubb_library2.pl did not return a true value at /www/the-group/httpd/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/postings.cgi line 46. Make sure these files exist, permissions are set properly, and paths are set correctly.

Hmmm, someone was probably making some changes to some of the CGI files and forgot to CHMOD the files back to 755 ... either that or they're doing some tweaking on the server-side...

for those who care hehehehehe
We had mega problems hehehe
i mean mega problems
short version
i am also hosting TDS Trojan Defense Suite ..
i am hosting that one for years and i can really get along with the company ...
with all the sircam and red code II crap their downloads went thru the roof ..
at the peak .. it was using up half a terrabyte a month of bandwidth ..
tierranet my old host decided to change their unlimmitted bandwidth usuage ..
so i got 10 days to bring the old TG server down from half a terrabyte to 10 gb ,,
impossible task .
so i needed to port over the entire domain to a new server www.hostingbox.com never my intention to move TG there coz i was working on something new there and i rather had things tobe seperated ..
but when push comes to shove .. o well
so we made the move
then monday the dns change kicked in
all that traffic hit the domain superhard ...
to skip the tech crap the ppl from TDS made a super big mistake on relying on TG as their #1 download ftp they even programmed their utils for it ..
so the new server got hit super bad ..
so hard that all domains where infected and washed down in the flood .
logical put the TDS server to a new computer .. therefor all urls from TDS and the autoupdate proggy in TDS was ****ed ..
should seen the *****ing from this one customer hehehehe
right now TDS is on a 100 gb a month leech ..
we had some shitload off errors .
it took 3 days b4 my email was working again .. that happens when logical is your system operator and security priority 1 .
tho it is a ***** sometimes too get user access to your own damn stuff i do know that this is the most secure server i ever bin hosted ..
alone the security to get and send email hahaha
no this good
hostingbox.com is not a real webhost . sure doug and logical offered it and our nagging they learned tons about doing webhosting
and yes you can expect some errors now and then hehehe
but shit i had to move .. when TDS used over half a terrabyte a month of data transfer they where going to bill me 4000 usd a month !!!
i woulda bin broke within a month hehehe

what a good story... we should publish it
Posted by: Wargasm
yeah hehehe
Posted by: Wargasm
hmm could not edit my msg . anyways i just logged in at tierranet to see how much bandwidth it still was using
0.0 a month hehehe
next time they check my bandwidth usuage they will understand

Cool beans wargy ... hopefully you'll rid yourself of Tierranet's Tyranny (hehehe) for good...
