Cookies / auto login problems

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Yesterday I installed and ran a spyware removing program called Spybot: Search and Destroy. It worked great, except now I cant auto log in to sites like this one, that I was able to in the past. Is there anything I can do about this? Any help would be much appreciated.

spybot doesnt cause any problems with auto-logins, unless they are also tracking cookies. your cookies have probably been cleared, resigning in should fix that.

Hmm. I tried re logging in and stuff, but it still won't auto log in on this site ( I havent checked my others) and the settings in the user control panel are set for auto log in. This is sort of a trivial question and only a minor annoyance, but I was just wondering...

its not spybot

if your cookies werent cleared, try clearing them. and make sure youre allowing permanent cookies, not just session ones.

Ok. I cleared past cookies, how do I check to see if they are permanent?

Posted by: redwench

should be in the cookie area, possibly under advanced.

Thanks, I still didn't find the permanent thing, but I think my problem is fixed. Ill post back if I have any more questions, but thank you very much for your help
