net waiting

Dear Sir I have a dell 8250 with conexant hsf v.92 modem and net waiting ,have yellow phone in toolbox but no calling icon ,and I cannot recieve any calls,my isp is bellsouth,have caller ID,have call waiting, and they do support,I have checked everything i can find to check but to no avail,do you have a guide list or suggestions.
