Help! Bnet Just Stopped Working!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Ok, so one day i decide to play daiblo 2, and it didn't connect to battle.net. What i want to know is why this happened. Please return my question

Posted by: thatjonkid2009

Oh, and i forgot to mention, it just stays at the "connecting to fastest server screen"

Are you able to connect to any of the Realms?

If you can't, please attempt to connect to any Realm again, then look for a file named bnetlog.txt in your Diablo II directory. Open it up and copy/paste its contents into your next post. The connection log will probably tell us what the problem is.

As I suspected, the problem is that you're trying to connect to 127.0.0.1 - this is a local loopback IP address, and it means that you're trying to connect to yourself and not a valid Battle.net server.

This problem is caused by downloading one or more hack, cheat, crack, mod, loader or whatever programs for Diablo II. Uninstall/delete any such programs you might have downloaded, then reset your Battle.net server list by following these steps:

Reset the Battle.net server list:
This step is not for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos or The Frozen Throne users.
Click on Start then Run.
Type regedit and click OK.
Click on the + icon beside the HKey_Local_Machine branch.
Click on the + icon beside the Software branch.
Select the Battle.net branch and press the delete key.
Click on the + icon beside the HKey_Current_User branch.
Click on the + icon beside the Software branch.
Select the Battle.net branch and press the delete key.
Now start the game and connect to Battle.net.

Thank you so much! Battle.net is working like is once did, and now I can continue my horrible addiction to it! Thanks for the help and keep up the good work!
